<div style="text-align: center;">
How have I not posted a recipe for White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies?? They're my husband's favorite cookie! Well, it is about time. I decided to do something nice for my hubby and make said favorite cookie today.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What you need:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3/4 cup granulated Sugar</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup packed Brown Sugar</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 large eggs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 tbsp Vanilla Extract</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 tsp Almond Extract</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3 cups Flour</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 tsp Salt</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 tsp Baking Soda</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup White Chocolate Chips</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 cup Macadamia Nuts</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm sure that I'm like most people and hate being sick and want to do everything in their power to speed the process along. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My go to products: Kleenex with Aloe, Vicks vapor rub, Chamomile and Echinacea Tea, DayQuil and NyQuil, and a heat pad. These products usually do the trick and it gets out of my system within 3-4 days. But sometimes there are some things that you can't live with during. Like yesterday, my nose was so stuffed my voice was sounding annoyingly identical to Fran Dresser. I tried blowing my nose but nothing came out. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What to do, what to do. At one point I started to get dizzy because one ear was popped and the other wasn't. I was desperate. So I did some research. I found a few answers and there was surprisingly not a lot of answers out there. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Even then I like to have all my facts in one place. Much like my <a href="http://cupcakeapothecary.blogspot.com/2012/02/130-uses-for-vinegar.html">130 uses for Vinegar</a> and <a href="http://cupcakeapothecary.blogspot.com/2012/02/43-uses-for-baking-soda.html">43 uses for Baking Powder</a> post. So I'm going to make a tips and tricks for when you're sick post. If you don't use it, I will always have it for me to look back on. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>First off,</u><u style="font-weight: bold;"> THE MUSTS:</u></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. I will most likely put it under every symptom.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2. Rest. Take it easy! Make the hubby, wife, kids, brother, sis, etc help you out with a blanket and a remote.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
3. Sleep. Take a Nyquil or Melotonin to help you go to sleep and stay that way.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
4. Do I really have to say this one? No alcohol, smoking, drugs, partying or just plain craziness. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
5. If this lasts longer than a week to two weeks, GO SEE A DOCTOR!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>Aches</b></u></div>
-Heat pad<br />
-Hot bath<br />
-Massage from your lovely, lovely significant other.<br />
-Tylenol, Advil.<br />
-Laying down with your legs propped up<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>Chills/Sweats</b></u></div>
-Cold compresses around legs and forehead.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
-There's not much out there. What I do is when I'm uncontrollably hot I take a cold shower or stand outside in winter for a few seconds. When I'm cold I have my heat pad and warm dog and husband that I cuddle up with.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<u><b>Coughing</b></u><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Hydrate</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Drink lots of warm fluids. Tea's, warm milk, soup, broth</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Hot Showers and steam. I like to lean my head back and just let the hot water pour on my throat. This helps with soreness as well. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Humidifiers. BE CAREFUL! If left uncleaned, they become reservoirs for pumping out fungus and mold. ICK.<br />-Decongestants. Dayquil and Nyquil, guys. Every 6 hours until bed then Nyquil for undisturbed sleep.<br />-Vicks Vapor rub. Rub it on your throat, chest and arch of neck</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>Ear Congestion</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Chewing Gum</div>
-Swallowing Hard<br />-Nasal Decongestants<br />-Yawn Wide<br /><div>
-Suck a mint or in your sick case, a couch drop. Let it slowly dissolve in your mouth.<br /><div>
-Plug your nose, inhale through your mouth and hold your breath. This should push some air through your ears<br /><div style="text-align: left;">
-In a warm shower, bend down and attempt to touch your toes and alternate popping your ears and trying to suck air down your throat. Suck the mucus down your throat? I guess like hawking a lugee. Ears should pop!<br />-Heat up a sock with some uncooked rice in it. Lay down with the sock against you year for a few minutes. Pour peroxide in ear. After a few minutes, clean ear with q-tips.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>Sneezing</b></u></div>
-There isn't much on how to stop sneezing either. Sneezing for me means that I'm healing. The day before I'm ok again I have fits of sneezing and the need to sneeze all day long. Even if I take allergy pills, it won't go away.<br />
<br /><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>Sore/Scratchy throat</b></u></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Gargle salt water</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Gargle Listerine</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Heat one cup to a boil and squeeze half a lemon and a tbsp of honey into your mug. Sip slowly. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Ginger Tea. Licorice root or tea</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Cough suppressant </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Inhaling steam through your mouth. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Boil 1 cup of milk and 1 tsp of turmeric for 3-4 minutes. Drink before bed</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Drinking Pineapple juice</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Apple Cider Vinegar. Take 1 part to 2 part ratio with water. (I hear it works wonders, but it also tastes horrible, I've tried.)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Chicken Soup</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Rest. Sometimes I just don't talk when my throat feels like this. It helps a lot. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Hydrate</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>Stuffed Nose</u></b></div>
-Blowing your nose with tissue with lotion of aloe. Or apply vicks vapor rub on your nose after blowing to prevent chapping.<br />
-Make steam (Run the shower, boil some water, humidifier) and try to slowly inhale the steam.<br />
-Use Nasal Sprays like Vicks Sinex or salt water solutions.<br />
-Nasal Adhesive Strips.<br />
-Vapor Rub. This is my bff when I'm sick. Rub some on the tip of you nose to help breathe AND for a chapped nose. Rub some on your chest/throat for a cough suppressant and to help reduce stuffiness in your nose. If you do not have any vapor rub, you can also use peppermint oil.<br />
-Chewing mint. I have not tried this, but apparently it works and if it doesn't at least you have good breath!<br />
-Take Decongestants<br />
-Put a warm compress over your nose. Soak a warm (as hot as you can stand) hand towel, lay down and place on your nose. This to me took forever to do and kept making me get up and reheat it for it to work and didn't last as long.<br />
-Elevating your head. Laying down will worsen your stuffy nose. Try to recline instead.<br />
-Eating spicy food. I don't know how accurate this one is but if all else fails at least you can't taste it much due to the stuffiness.<br />
-Hydrate. You should do this last one all the time in normal life, but especially when you're sick.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>Vomiting/Diarrhea</b></u> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
-Eating crackers help with feeling like you have to vomit or anything carb-y. My theory is that it 'soaks' up whatever bug is in there.<br />-Charcoal tablets. These are a must in my house. They help with any kind of stomach problem. They are fast acting and there isn't any *mmhmm* 'leftover' diarrhea. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them and post them!</span></b></div>

<br />
My husband and I watched a documentary called Fat Head. Tom Naughton took the documentary Super Size Me to a whole new level. He wanted to prove that you can eat out like the guy from Super Size me and not gain weight. It was all about portion control when it came to carbs. Carbs has so much sugar in it that even if you're eating a 'diet' bread or cupcake there's still so much sugar in it.<br />
Or something like that. My husband took more out of it. but I recommend watching it. It is eye opening. It's on Netflix watch instantly.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyway, so my husband and I are cutting out carbs for a little while. It's getting a little tough. I've been craving cupcakes and cookies. So I found these cookies when I was looking for some inspiration to do something without flour or with almond flour and right in front of my face were these cookies.<br />

We are on the waiting list for base housing and until then we're in a tiny cramped apartment which has literally the worst oven in the world! I will try to post some non baking things up or some older recipes I never posted from the past but that is all I can do for now. Thank you for your amazing, supportive comments. They motivate me to keep baking! I will hopefully be back baking within a few months.<br />Here are some photo's of recipes to come:<br />

I didn't even attempt to mess with this recipe and make it my own. Sugar cookies and I have a love hate relationship; in that, I love to eat them, but they hate to come out right when I try to bake them. It's very sad. Until now, that is. I came across<a href="http://allrecipes.com/recipe/chewy-sugar-cookies/detail.aspx"> this</a> recipe on allrecipes.com. It is awesome because most sugar cookie recipes call to be put in the fridge for an hour or more. Sometimes I'm lazy. I don't want to do all that. Well, this recipe is a little bit of labor, but it's so good, so it's worth it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

It's that time of season again, and it's my favorite time: Pumpkin time!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I try not to go too nuts on the pumpkin, but I can't help it. It's so good!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV0MIq4jEHPoKu8c3aqBpVPmfsP6zYgJYBDp8GgOtpzrBSTA0wcaUlkY4ChQkaedLCyIdHFzSIEmIC4xZdG528HqLd6SZP9wYQm33Hi8cSpW9vYZ0C7rqgL-p26ggzlSdCMT_ulAR1pkI/s1600/Pumpkin+oatmeal.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV0MIq4jEHPoKu8c3aqBpVPmfsP6zYgJYBDp8GgOtpzrBSTA0wcaUlkY4ChQkaedLCyIdHFzSIEmIC4xZdG528HqLd6SZP9wYQm33Hi8cSpW9vYZ0C7rqgL-p26ggzlSdCMT_ulAR1pkI/s320/Pumpkin+oatmeal.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So far I've only made this and pumpkin granola, so it's okay. But I plan on making Pumpkin donuts, pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin bars, and of course a few pumpkin pies. This year I will be doing something different though. I'll be making a pumpkin cheesecake pie for Thanksgiving since we're visiting family and I'm sure everyone else will bring pie too. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
ANYWAYS, I've been trying to lose weight for a long time now. I've recently joined a gym though called Just Ladies Fitness and I'm loving it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So, in addition, I've been trying to eat healthier. It's tough but I'm making do. So, for breakfast I've been trying to have more oatmeal and fruits instead of cereal, especially since it's getting cold out. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's a delicious recipe for Pumpkin oatmeal.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What you need:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 cup Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup Milk (Skim, soy, rice, 2%, whatever you choose)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 cup canned Pumpkin Puree</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ground Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Ginger</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 teaspoon Maple Syrup (or honey)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Brown sugar or walnuts or anything you want to top.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What you need to do:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Simple really: Boil the oats in milk, pumpkin, syrup and spices. You can even use pumpkin spices if you'd like. I put a few shakes of each spice into the oatmeal. Let sit until oats are soft.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sprinkle with your topping.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's so simple and so delicious! My favorite part, besides the pumpkin, is that it doesn't have any preservative or processed junk or anything. I actually found a link to a few copy cat of those instant oatmeal packets. I will have to share. :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Enjoy!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Cupcakes are taking off. I've seen so many things in cupcake forms lately. Like in Tokyo, theres a 'red velvet' cupcake. Sounds normal, right? WRONG! The red in the cupcakes is from beets. Ick! Cinnamon buns can now come in cupcake form. And now, lasagna. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was really good, but really hard work! Like... it took a lloooonnng time to finish. Was it worth it in the end? meh... not really. I'm all about pretty, delicious and pretty easy and less time consuming to cook. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOdnEyML7VxSg2OVN8ZwgYi61EDr7DYDodnk9a5AkAIi19uMr7PvmdxTtm5T8eoQ-cvU09S0HsVDJOhVPdP3a4arOD7oMvtxc2XAljG-zy83Zpi11PjSxDsDvmXExwQvv1HAAwpLYu594/s1600/Lasagna+Cupcakes.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOdnEyML7VxSg2OVN8ZwgYi61EDr7DYDodnk9a5AkAIi19uMr7PvmdxTtm5T8eoQ-cvU09S0HsVDJOhVPdP3a4arOD7oMvtxc2XAljG-zy83Zpi11PjSxDsDvmXExwQvv1HAAwpLYu594/s320/Lasagna+Cupcakes.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pretty, right? They were pretty tasty. But honestly, I think I could use this same recipe and just make it the old fashion way. This recipe was adapted from <a href="http://thegirlwhoateeverything.com/">The Girl Who Ate Everything</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What you need: (Sorry, I don't have measurements)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Italian Sausage (I used Johnsonville Chicken Sausage, 3 cheese Italian Flavored)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Red pepper</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Onion</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Garlic</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lasagna noodles, cooked al dante</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ricotta Cheese</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Parmesan Cheese</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mozzarella Cheese</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(I added in some Fontina Cheese as well)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Italian spices (I.e. basil, oregano, etc)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Spaghetti sauce (I use Prego, my Favorite!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What you need to do:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI00kuofPn_YryBdg-yabECwinyfGA39mtjJnLcJ2Tukk_TzaJpsFFvzz6sO9csVJPwIr993WJXfFLcZeYdAykr4iA2OlCP6AQtvbPhf1_MKAOgLk4WvL9uxu1A915Th6AOzquc_uwIkw/s1600/IMG_6474.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI00kuofPn_YryBdg-yabECwinyfGA39mtjJnLcJ2Tukk_TzaJpsFFvzz6sO9csVJPwIr993WJXfFLcZeYdAykr4iA2OlCP6AQtvbPhf1_MKAOgLk4WvL9uxu1A915Th6AOzquc_uwIkw/s320/IMG_6474.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start out by putting your sausage in a food processor.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQTd-bGldnSyypY27_B1eAvyU3irOiL5rCivLb3-6dFNubAg53hpiuGbXcRfg0zPa_Mwc9qwRbC_9lgfjhuW3EYEABTQ3095ltsmHKhmLr1l-fA1RZvgC3yAmmqvVb7FK4DnK5V74_5wY/s1600/IMG_6475.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQTd-bGldnSyypY27_B1eAvyU3irOiL5rCivLb3-6dFNubAg53hpiuGbXcRfg0zPa_Mwc9qwRbC_9lgfjhuW3EYEABTQ3095ltsmHKhmLr1l-fA1RZvgC3yAmmqvVb7FK4DnK5V74_5wY/s320/IMG_6475.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pulse until it looks like the above photo. The smaller, the better.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxG2hkMk9aNsy3VWTfs521A8ql2nhLWQkd6sAgtxTpkai7ao8x5KVK5ZuIzE5XZ-1Px6zR20gWbAgzwzARrTF1XqJYPuxePxl4TZQ3RItFt3GfbzY5KPbgh5BmlRG8bNmX-EgChaneUTc/s1600/IMG_6477.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxG2hkMk9aNsy3VWTfs521A8ql2nhLWQkd6sAgtxTpkai7ao8x5KVK5ZuIzE5XZ-1Px6zR20gWbAgzwzARrTF1XqJYPuxePxl4TZQ3RItFt3GfbzY5KPbgh5BmlRG8bNmX-EgChaneUTc/s320/IMG_6477.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next, pulse some pepper and onion. Garlic would be nice too, but I crushed mine with a knife so we have lots of big pieces! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Saute it all together, fully cooking the sausage.</div>

I got the gyro with fries and pasta salad. The pasta salad was a bit too much on the mayo-y side, but I'm not a fan of mayo, so I'm biased. The gyro was delicious! The meat was so tender and flavorful with a tzatziki sauce that topped it off into perfection.</div>

I have finally gotten settled, but don't get used to it guys! We're going to start looking for houses in February. But until then, there is a LOT I have to catch you up on. I have a few restaurant reviews as well as recipes that I want to share! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got this recipe from <a href="http://iowagirleats.com/2012/01/21/blueberry-muffin-top-cookies/">Iowa Girl Eats</a>. I love that blog! I'm on my journey to finally looking great and feeling great about my body. So, I haven't been baking much because of it. But Iowa Girl Eats has so many inspirational ideas and recipes to help me lose weight without eating crap and feeling guilty. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Blueberry is Joe's favorite, so of course I had to try these when I stumbled across it on her blog. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
We're finally here in Wichita, KS! We got here on the 26th, got a place on the 27th (a one bedroom apartment, which compared to our nice three bedroom house, it's overwhelming), our stuff arrived here, we found out on the 28th, on the 25th, but we couldn't get our stuff delivered until the 2nd, and just got internet today. Ugh. It's been crazy and busy. But as I unpacked my cook books and baking gear, I got re-inspired so hopefully I can get back into the game soon.<br />
<br />
On another note, I signed up for an Influenter voxbox. If you want to sign up <a href="http://www.influenster.com/">HERE</a> is their web site. Influenster basically sends out free samples and people like me, those with blogs or vlogs give their opinion out on these things. I recently received the Naturals VoxBox which had in it:<br />

CleanWell Antibacterial Hand Wipes<br />
GeoDeo<br />
Nectresse<br />
EBOOST<br />
Lypsyl<br />
And within each box, everyone gets one in four items. I got Maxi Hair Tablets.<br />
<br />
Ok, here are my 100% honest opionions about each product.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Original Dish Drying Mat</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41w6ApfZiFL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41w6ApfZiFL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Before I had this dish drying mat, I had a bulky dish rack. It was nice, but it took up so much space. On top of that, at the time we lived in New Mexico and the water was so hard that it would leave nasty hard water stains all over it. I like my house to look clean and clutter free. This was not clean. Then I got this mat. Three letters: OMG. It took less space, did the same job, without the hard water stains. It is always clean. It absorbs so nicely and dries fast! It's machine washable if it ever does get dirty. It's affordable. It's about $5. The only con: You can't place glasses or cups faced down on it because it isn't airy enough to let out the moisture. So the water just sits there. But you can easily fix that by tilting the cup to let in some air. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
CleanWell Antibacterial Hand Wipes </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
The biggest pro: They're natural. They use thyme oil instead of harsh chemicals to do the same job. For this packet you see in the photo you get 8 pocket packets with 10 wipes in each so 80 total and it costs $26.99. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell you this, but I'm going to anyways. If you go to <a href="http://store.cleanwelltoday.com/">store.cleanwelltoday.com</a> and and enter in the promo code voxfb20 you'll get 20% off of your order. This deal expires on 10/12/12 so get to it! Also if you go to their <a href="http://www.facebook.com/cleanwell?fref=ts">Facebook page</a> you can get a coupon for $1.00 off.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
GeoDeo</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="200" src="http://www.herbimport.com/cart/media/ecom/prodlg/geodeo.JPG" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
GeoDeo is 97% natural. The other 3% is apparently is essential to maintain the effectiveness. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin. Anything besides Dove Sensitive Skin and I break out. I end up itchy and make myself look like a monkey itching my arm pits. It's awkward. But this deo doesn't have any harsh chemicals, especially metals, which I have noticed that aluminum is the main and active ingredient is most deodorants. The only thing I didn't like was the smell, but there are 2 other scents that I will be sure to try.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.facebook.com/mygeodeo?fref=ts">Facebook Page</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Nectresse</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="146" src="http://www.kansascitymamas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Nectresse-coupon.jpeg" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love Splenda. I use it in everything. EVERYTHING! Well, Splenda has made Nectresse. It's 100% natural made from Monk fruit with nothing artificial. It is zero calories and it tastes pretty close to Splenda. So if you like Splenda and you like all natural, get some Nectresse. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.facebook.com/nectresse?fref=ts">Facebook Page</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
EBOOST</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="200" src="http://www.chemicalevolution.com/images/EBOOST-Tablets.jpg" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm not big on energy boosters, so I, unfortunately, have nothing to compare it to. I liked everything about it but the taste. It was orange and had a horrible after taste. Luckily you only have to drink 8 oz. Jillian Michaels gives it an A+, so that's saying something. There's no added caffeine, just natural caffeine from green tea, so there's no crash. It's also 5 calories per packet! What the what! Yea...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you go to <a href="http://eboost.com/">EBOOST.com</a> you can order them from there and get free S&H on orders over $30. If you go <a href="http://www.facebook.com/jillianmichaels?sk=app_263860290383515">HERE</a> you can also get a coupon!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lypsyl</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://hellodollface.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/lip21.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lypsyl. This is the only one I didn't like. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When it comes to chapped lips, there's no better lip balm than Burt's Bee's. Put one coat on and you're good. This balm, about 30 minutes after applying, it was all gone! Why? The first ingredient is Mineral oil. The second ingredient is Petroleum. These are both drying ingredients and should not be used for your skin. Go to <a href="http://www.painbreak.com/stevens/stevens_cream_avoid.htm">this web page</a> to read more about it. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Burt's Bee's, however, doesn't have any of these ingredients. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/LypSyl-lipbalm/166628636689762?ref=ts&fref=ts">Facebook Page</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And within each box you got either one of four products and I got Maxi-Hair.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="200" src="http://thebesthairregrowthproducts.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Maxi-Hair.jpg" width="104" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Maxi Hair is for hair, nails and skin. It is about $17.99 per bottle, which to me is a bit spendy. I personally take pure biotin for my hair, skin and nails. Maxi hair's main ingredient is Biotin and not only do you have to take two (and there are only 90 tables, so 45 uses), but the pills are HUGE! Biotin's tablets are smaller than a pinky nail and you only have to take one a day. Plus Biotin is about $3.00 per bottle and has 120 tablets (that's 120 uses!) </div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbGbpjadHSx52WHd3BHgh8x0na8e0wYARIUINl6hpWBdW8B6UtT_prMpsk4NFJ1Ah2DQ4XWAR6ujc8rGP4MZs4-CGgnKp28l4-9t-ReLH7tSkwJCQQH29zK3qobYI0lRAKOW92Kwq1P1Y/s1600/IMG_6270.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbGbpjadHSx52WHd3BHgh8x0na8e0wYARIUINl6hpWBdW8B6UtT_prMpsk4NFJ1Ah2DQ4XWAR6ujc8rGP4MZs4-CGgnKp28l4-9t-ReLH7tSkwJCQQH29zK3qobYI0lRAKOW92Kwq1P1Y/s320/IMG_6270.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This recipe was inspired by <a href="http://simmertilldone.com/2009/10/07/retriever-retriever-pumpkin-eater/">Simmer til Done</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I never leave my dogs outside when I leave my house because one, I don't trust my fence, or my dogs for that matter. They're very sneaky, sneaky! Two, because I live in New Mexico and it is so hot, I don't want to leave them out in the heat where I don't have that much shade.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnOCeMlfwqpPj0LfFrqtX7mEotZgBeG-e1lPk-enoVACi9ERwEaxa5cqI6Y9TQTB1hHQ0dNSrw9ovdfgDswc_udzQrkrGmVQBiPLj24gCOKBCA1BVTq1oVcWb7HWi0HtkyUEucYZKrwuw/s1600/IMG_6463.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnOCeMlfwqpPj0LfFrqtX7mEotZgBeG-e1lPk-enoVACi9ERwEaxa5cqI6Y9TQTB1hHQ0dNSrw9ovdfgDswc_udzQrkrGmVQBiPLj24gCOKBCA1BVTq1oVcWb7HWi0HtkyUEucYZKrwuw/s320/IMG_6463.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
SO! what I do is I have them in one of my guest bedrooms in roomy cages, where they have air condition and they get a treat every time they go in there. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, problem with treats every time they go in there is that it isn't good for them to get so much! So I do a lot of shopping around and try to get the best for them like dental sticks and whatnot. But this time I tried something different. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pumpkin puree is EXTREMELY good for your dog! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If your dog has eaten something from getting into the trash or finding some junk outside and now have an upset stomach or diarrhea and even for constipation, give them some pumpkin puree!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT give them the canned pumpkin that has all the extra stuff and all you have to do to make a pie is add eggs. If you're going to do this, give them strictly pumpkin puree. I cannot emphasize that enough!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pumpkin is rich in fiber, low in saturated fat, sodium and cholesterol. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Even by adding in a few teaspoons (depending on the size of dog) to your dogs breakfast can help him/her's digestive system. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, getting back to these dog treats. Most dog treats out there have peanut butter and/or garlic oil in them. Both can be given to your dog, but in small, monitored amounts. You can read more about the effects of garlic on dogs <a href="http://bunkblog.net/foods-unsafe-for-dogs/can-dogs-eat-garlic">HERE</a>. Because I don't want my dog to have too much of something that could be harmful, I made these very healthy treats!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
One more thing: I added Brewers yeast to my dog treats and I actually feed the powder to my dogs once a week into their food. Brewers yeast is a great source of B Vitamins including Biotin, which is great for hair and nails. It also strengthens dogs immune system. The main reason why I give Brewers yeast to my dogs is because it is thought to make their blood bitter, resulting in fleas and ticks to not want to bite and cling onto them. This last bit of info has been debatable. There haas been a few studies confirming and a few denying it. All I know is that not only is it good for them, but if it works on fleas and ticks, great! But in my experience, my small dog, Cocoa, has NEVER had fleas or ticks. EVER! My big one is still new to this family, but he's never had any as well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok, so what you need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 eggs</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/2 cup canned Pumpkin Puree</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 tbsp Milk</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/2 cup Brewers Yeast</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 1/2 cups Brown Rice Flour </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(I added a bit more since I actually put milk in instead of powdered milk)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Preheat your oven to 350.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mix your wet ingredients in a bowl and your dry together in another bowl. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Slowly fold in the dry ingredients with the wet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once the dough is no longer sticky, place on a floured surface to knead. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz14KD01nLrzPsnvfif1CgSCiWYiNpfxDfNdO6jLKzm4s1o0ZIDcIu2DqSrFV3O5J4St3W8q0xe805WgIjhQDaTqGCjva5v96mBxGmZaYu7QKyCqeElM5fL9Tr978OkPIGLrKPUucimKE/s1600/IMG_6261.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz14KD01nLrzPsnvfif1CgSCiWYiNpfxDfNdO6jLKzm4s1o0ZIDcIu2DqSrFV3O5J4St3W8q0xe805WgIjhQDaTqGCjva5v96mBxGmZaYu7QKyCqeElM5fL9Tr978OkPIGLrKPUucimKE/s320/IMG_6261.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once rolled out, cut your treats into whatever shape you desire. I went with a traditional doggy bone. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiScE8Zsb9Q4Jzs-hP-ZzmhPPK95C6YjVyJwpzXAbpBMAgZkEQF599jWuUyGxKwsyqvU5ctSiEsnkfxJfb_EJLc7gfFIwLgICRElKviv-znKtDgI54ZFRs9BmnW6A2YVnYY5mL_yMfT85M/s1600/IMG_6262.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiScE8Zsb9Q4Jzs-hP-ZzmhPPK95C6YjVyJwpzXAbpBMAgZkEQF599jWuUyGxKwsyqvU5ctSiEsnkfxJfb_EJLc7gfFIwLgICRElKviv-znKtDgI54ZFRs9BmnW6A2YVnYY5mL_yMfT85M/s320/IMG_6262.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cut them all out! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidnEzaAmGKq-sIflaDbQe_iV7uTN-EjzdsjxEWq098RPGO2rRevIAo_pZa_pfrfRXQ3-ZWB83DQi2taEJibiRAB4MtFLyjCS6U9YAYLKMipx-RpQKa3eJq0PV928o_BZ853uOHmyxnBV4/s1600/IMG_6264.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidnEzaAmGKq-sIflaDbQe_iV7uTN-EjzdsjxEWq098RPGO2rRevIAo_pZa_pfrfRXQ3-ZWB83DQi2taEJibiRAB4MtFLyjCS6U9YAYLKMipx-RpQKa3eJq0PV928o_BZ853uOHmyxnBV4/s320/IMG_6264.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Bake for 20 minutes, flip them over then bake another 20 minutes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This will make them nice an crunchy. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You don't have to, but if you'd like poke them in the middle with a fork for decoration.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today, I went to Savory located at 1314 S Grand Blvd.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Which, I discovered, that every first Friday of the month they hold a mini Cirque de Soleil from 5 pm to 9 pm. I was so sad hearing this because I'm leaving this Sunday back to New Mexico. So next time I come up, I will have to come!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Savory once was a Blockbuster, but ya know, due to Red Box and Netflix, who needs Blockbuster? I am surprised Hastings has lasted this long! So when I walked in, I was shocked to see....</div>

This! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Straight ahead is the lounge. The atmosphere was very chic.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The waitress we had was so nice! She talked briefly to me about being a military wife and thanked me and my husband for my sacrifice and his service. She came around and checked on us frequently (not too-too much) and when we had questions she patiently answered all of the ones she knew and the ones she didn't she didn't hesitate to ask. </div>

We were seated in the Lounge. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love how you can see the kitchen from the restaurant and that there was seating right in front of it! This told me that they weren't afraid to show what they are doing/making back there and they are up to par of cleanliness. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Before I get started on this beautiful salad, I must say this: We ordered two specials which were $14 ($15 for dinner), little pricey for lunch, I know, but it came with either a house salad (above) or a caeser salad and after you've had your meal, you get dessert too! So All in all, not a bad price.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok. The salad. This salad came with beautiful spring mix, candied apricots, Gorgonzola cheese, Dried Chic Peas and Pecans. There may be a few other things in here as well, I can't remember. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I ordered Chicken Picata on Angel Hair Pasta. It entailed Lemon-Caper wine sauce, garlic, shallots, butter and soft herbs. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was a bit disappointed with this, but not because of the chef, because I didn't see the caper part and I'm not a caper fan, which you can see there are capers everywhere. BUT! the chicken was SOOOO moist! I didn't even need a knife to cut through it and it was pretty good!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl3AxSHnNUF3SlpUi6Qm-Qry_BS3hclv2t71wE2VMxIESSnMJOqGMIhGDPtViEvH6MahyxAyPGGMTzw3SKwcRQkOLSZ2Ogh5cY_dPGYRq9_P67tC805aKlJOzY5sy7aXx-rAF0bJKI9M8/s1600/IMG_6426.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl3AxSHnNUF3SlpUi6Qm-Qry_BS3hclv2t71wE2VMxIESSnMJOqGMIhGDPtViEvH6MahyxAyPGGMTzw3SKwcRQkOLSZ2Ogh5cY_dPGYRq9_P67tC805aKlJOzY5sy7aXx-rAF0bJKI9M8/s320/IMG_6426.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My mother got some fish and chips. The cod was fresh, not frozen, and breaded in Parmesean cheese, garlic and ginger Panko crumbs with a hand made tartar sauce. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, I didn't take photo's of dessert. I'm sorry. :(</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My mom had Creme Brulee. It was pretty good.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had the Chocolate Decadence. Which... there are no words for how amazing it was....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So. What I love the most about this restaurant is that the chefs try to incorporate fresh local fruits and veggies as possible. Which is just amazing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't understand why only 68% of the people who have gone to Savory like it, I was very impressed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a perfect date night restaurant. Service was great. It's pricey, but delicious. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I rate it as a 5 out of 5.</div>

<span style="line-height: 14px;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the menu, but it was one page that included Appetizers, Sandwiches and Specials. </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px;">All the burgers and sandwiches come with either Corn pasta salad, potato salad, regular potato chips or jalapeno chips. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="line-height: 14px;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 14px;">I took my mother out before I leave to New Mexico. She got a Black Bean Burger (She's a vegetarian) with the corn salad and I got a Grilled Lamb Sandwich with the corn salad as well. </span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the inside. The place is packed in the patio and it was almost closing time, so no one was inside. </div>
<br />

The bar is on the other side of the wall. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Service was not the best. Our server barely came by. We had to hunt him down for the check!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As I said earlier, I felt the options were limited, but were good. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My favorite part of the whole experience was the corn pasta. So good! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All in all, I would go back. I give it 3.5/5 stars. </div>

No, I am not calling you all lazy, it's just what I call myself. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sometimes I don't even call it that; sometimes it's the overworked housewife who needs to make a bunt cake for potluck.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Some days it's so hard to bake when you've had a busy day or just an off day even!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I will be posting some delicious, easy baking solutions to your hectic day. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lately I have been favoring this box:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://shop.ghirardelli.com/images/baking/928_300.jpg" />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownie mix.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Not only is this delicious just made by it self, but I have tried some new things to it that give it a little extra something. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have tried one or two things before and have posted it:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://cupcakeapothecary.blogspot.com/2011/07/chewy-oat-brownies.html">Chewy Oat Brownies</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://cupcakeapothecary.blogspot.com/2011/06/brownie-pop-mold-give-away.html">Simple Brownie Pops</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Some things I ave been wanting to try out:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.grouprecipes.com/113066/a-twist-on-package-mix-brownies.html">A Twist on Package Mix Brownies</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/product-recipes/brownie-mix-recipes/simple-creative-brownie-recipes">Betty Crocker</a> has a few ideas as well!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://community.tasteofhome.com/community_forums/f/33/t/857600.aspx">Marble Cake</a> using brownie mix and cake mix!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As I come up with more I will be sure to fill you in. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy Baking!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Ok, here's whats new:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- We got our orders!!! We're going to Wichita, Kansas. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZzQpio3X02T_2hrRIKUIGByAOnpa2xHIjIUqC0a4CTxc3SPcPN_Coe54_GshBhvIrN35_aDIVbaMueJnXdhJfPz4uVpXBrUsEg4MlbP3nI7v8FzmAigquhaDLL9TlyOMsatH2RkmBH9g/s1600/wichita.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZzQpio3X02T_2hrRIKUIGByAOnpa2xHIjIUqC0a4CTxc3SPcPN_Coe54_GshBhvIrN35_aDIVbaMueJnXdhJfPz4uVpXBrUsEg4MlbP3nI7v8FzmAigquhaDLL9TlyOMsatH2RkmBH9g/s320/wichita.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
People keep giving me faces when I tell them this, but think about it. I was in a spit in a bucket, hoe-dink, middle of the dessert town. This is a HUGE upgrade! McConnell AFB is 5 minutes away from downtown Wichita. How exciting is that?!?! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So now that I will be in a major city (Plus I'm within a few hours away from Oklahoma City and a few more from Dallas) My blog will also become a foodie blog (I will still bake, don't worry!). I will be taking pictures of different places and criticizing them. I'm super stoked! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Also, I will be adding some hair and DIY stuffs to my blog. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have crazy curly hair. And there's very few blogs/magazines/pictures/tips/etc. that are about curly hair. If they are, they're people who curly their hair unnaturally (Curling irons, sock buns, perms, etc)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I will be documenting and criticizing products and tips you can use in your curly hair among other things.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ok, So I am up in Spokane, Wa, where my family is at while my husband is in tech school at Sheppard AFB. I haven't been baking a lot, but a few times. PLUSSSS, I catered for<a href="http://www.balanceeternelle.com/Index.htm"> Balance Eternelle Day Spa </a> (or <a href="http://www.facebook.com/Balance.Eternelle.Day.Spa">facebook</a> page) while here and I made some cute things!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsJ672gtVgqI3wpDUEjYQHWxe9h53eDzi0s0PQHzoLWNnIsw-h5jCmU-HDYn_m2xeHoRzxSXyLOCC0d-2yaoxcHEpmt_VFyDRrBUbwm8DKwz6_OyHoyS-Uk_Dfpoo7kv2SosiJbEYf6rk/s1600/IMG_6403.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsJ672gtVgqI3wpDUEjYQHWxe9h53eDzi0s0PQHzoLWNnIsw-h5jCmU-HDYn_m2xeHoRzxSXyLOCC0d-2yaoxcHEpmt_VFyDRrBUbwm8DKwz6_OyHoyS-Uk_Dfpoo7kv2SosiJbEYf6rk/s320/IMG_6403.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are some bread dip bowls. In the back is celery, middle is carrot, front is cucumber and a variety of breads with some mild Jalapeno Ranch. These got great reviews.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlfMkhLMEl7fKxn_sbbKiVbNHUjy0HRJu-4JjBQU-BT1djU2B0QazBSJRVB8F8R5pz3LvPySQvRbc4UMaqihaWICpZ-lyCFWYGqfuniTs6uKzP6pcWRBz2V4hpV9up0CE29j0zR-tZVo4/s1600/IMG_6404.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlfMkhLMEl7fKxn_sbbKiVbNHUjy0HRJu-4JjBQU-BT1djU2B0QazBSJRVB8F8R5pz3LvPySQvRbc4UMaqihaWICpZ-lyCFWYGqfuniTs6uKzP6pcWRBz2V4hpV9up0CE29j0zR-tZVo4/s320/IMG_6404.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Jalapeno Popper Rolls. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Super easy and was one of the first things to go!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEionqj6fSNmjpdQfmICOMuWFh0QpsDZPYx1Ch3R6qCN2_x6ehzVO9KNBRkb-hsGAse9Abx6xgeVDQ0fshd6j48Jrd5YDU8Bg6IRK9t9-lrMaIjqq1r6Uk60glWfLPtR4o5CDu0mwOwMFLc/s1600/IMG_6405.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEionqj6fSNmjpdQfmICOMuWFh0QpsDZPYx1Ch3R6qCN2_x6ehzVO9KNBRkb-hsGAse9Abx6xgeVDQ0fshd6j48Jrd5YDU8Bg6IRK9t9-lrMaIjqq1r6Uk60glWfLPtR4o5CDu0mwOwMFLc/s320/IMG_6405.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Dark Chocolate Brownies</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These got wonderful reviews and I had to constantly come back and refill the tray! I was a good thing I made a double batch. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also made some Greek cukes (Cucumber slices with Tzatziki on top) and some Caprese Kabobs (Grape tomato, basil leaf, mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette on a toothpick)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I couldn't get photos! Sad, I know.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At home though, I made a few things at my mothers request.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhepVuUvzQO6pFazlWnFklyNK3hke2WEYEFtFiTZY2oboZkzmxqDc65Phfs0VeuxKg_sgvWB1yI4mvmwTDBK-VKgEHjoJlajrdNsevwX5fwQKTP6vWhI342-3EdroINjZP4RQT4i5TudsI/s1600/IMG_6397.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhepVuUvzQO6pFazlWnFklyNK3hke2WEYEFtFiTZY2oboZkzmxqDc65Phfs0VeuxKg_sgvWB1yI4mvmwTDBK-VKgEHjoJlajrdNsevwX5fwQKTP6vWhI342-3EdroINjZP4RQT4i5TudsI/s320/IMG_6397.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Breakfast cookies (Energy cookies)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are oatmeal cookies with a whole lot more than just raisins!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS0YlXXrLM6k8IjYFnJdQu_1HK4-WYMhQD_G_HCKREDF7OjogbzdjBgalwg_z-5y_9hzwc4llut08w38jgt1fyydWvK5_bJkXMbJs4i3xihnDMI1vsMcrhyphenhyphen5_jhV4xZORZeAdwJFoNcb8/s1600/IMG_6399.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS0YlXXrLM6k8IjYFnJdQu_1HK4-WYMhQD_G_HCKREDF7OjogbzdjBgalwg_z-5y_9hzwc4llut08w38jgt1fyydWvK5_bJkXMbJs4i3xihnDMI1vsMcrhyphenhyphen5_jhV4xZORZeAdwJFoNcb8/s320/IMG_6399.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mini Lemon Pies</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My mother was in a lemon fix, so I made her these simple Lemon pies and it cured her!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All these recipes will be coming as soon as we get settled in at Wichita. I will be going back home (as in NM) in 2 weeks and 2 weeks later we'll be going to our new home in Wichita! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hopefully we will get base housing and I will be back to my blogging self in no time!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope all my readers are doing well and baking a ton! </div>

I'm sorry I haven't been around. My husband just got his orders and were leaving in less than a month! June 1st. We've been trying to sort out our lives and home. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We've even been trying to find a home for a stray kitten we took in, but no one wants her.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5fwU4-OTMWGo-p5uNT1NXfW8JLa3wApTSB59RHqVBMq48CQx-HrSZfaUvnLIIs4IZQb6uDHQ7Ye4z3tKhK-joq2vRbaTNieQlGoKH1jVupSF4SG2kIINEfpvkbCzisajubP812rmUDT8/s1600/IMG_6148.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5fwU4-OTMWGo-p5uNT1NXfW8JLa3wApTSB59RHqVBMq48CQx-HrSZfaUvnLIIs4IZQb6uDHQ7Ye4z3tKhK-joq2vRbaTNieQlGoKH1jVupSF4SG2kIINEfpvkbCzisajubP812rmUDT8/s320/IMG_6148.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We named her Dobby, but we're trying not to get attached.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been still been baking I just haven't had the chance to post anything.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hopefully this doesn't last long though. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's the situation:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My husband got re-classed, which mean he has to go back to tech school to get a new job.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He'll be going to Sheppard AFB, which is in Wichita Falls, Texas for about 2 months (During our 3rd year anniversary. Sadness)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We're supposed to hear where we get stationed next any day now, but every day that passes, it just seems unlikely that we'll know where we're going and before you know it Joe is in Tech school and we still won't know til he graduates. Which I'm hoping it doesn't happen, but if it does, it wouldn't be the first time. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sooooo, right now, we're packing as if I'm leaving to go home while he's in Texas and trying to get rid of things we don't use/need. But honestly I have no clue where I'll be in a month. Home, here, or another base! But the Air Force's motto is basically "Hurry up and wait". So that's what we're doing. Is waiting. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm hoping that I can come back soon, I have so much to share! and I want to know what you guys have been up to! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy Blogging everyone!</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07716723383956962686noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-397993610768384684.post-70156777250523343132012-03-26T10:42:00.002-07:002012-03-26T10:42:35.196-07:00Guest Writer: DJ from DJ's Sugar Shack!<br />

<span style="font-size: large;">What's your favorite recipe (Can be your own)? </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
This is
tough, but lately I've been in love with a Thai Curry Shrimp Curry over Coconut
Ginger Rice. It doesn't require to much prep work, its simple and so good. I
think I make it for dinner once a week.<o:p></o:p></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"> What do you live by
in life? (Your motto, a quote, a verse etc.) </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
I have 2 quotes that I love. The first in kind of silly, but it is
something my Grandfather used to say a lot when I was younger. "Whoever
don't love this life must be crazy." I just helps me keep things in
perspective during rough times. Things may not always turn out the way you
wanted but in the end it all works out for the best. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
The second is something I read in a book called A Dog's
Purpose, "Failure is not an option if success is just a matter of more
effort." I think that is a pretty good motto to live by.<o:p></o:p></div>

I was born and raised in New Orleans. When I graduated from
college I decided to spend a summer working in Denali National Park in Alaska.
Twelve years later, I'm still here. I live in Girdwood, Alaska, home of Alyeska
Resort, Alaska's largest ski resort. I love the outdoors and all the adventure
that Alaska offers. Oh yeah, I Love to Bake. Until I moved to Alaska, I hadn't
done much cooking or baking at all. But once I started I couldn't stop.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
DJ's Sugar Shack is a fairly new baking blog. I started
blogging in December because I wanted to share my interest with other bakers.
Although my friends and family eating my treats, I'm pretty sure that they
don't really care how or why I decided to bake something. Rather than boring
them with the details, I started writing about my adventures in baking. I'm am
truly amazed by all of awesome feedback treats have gotten in the past few
months. I never imagined anyone other than my mom actually reading my posts. It
is so nice to share my work with others who share the same passion for baking. <o:p></o:p></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I got this cookie recipe from: <a href="http://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/2010/04/creamsicle-cookies.html">The Girl Who Ate Everything</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What You Need:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3/4 teaspoon baking soda </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 teaspoon salt </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 cup sugar </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 firmly packed brown sugar </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 large egg </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 teaspoon vanilla extract </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 tablespoons orange zest (for me that was the zest of 2 oranges)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 cups Vanilla Chips</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What you need to do:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and creamy. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Gradually add flour mixture until combined. Stir in orange zest and chips. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do not flatten cookies; it will make them dry. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown around edges. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do not overcook! Cookies will be plump.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cool for several minutes on cookie sheets before transferring to rack to cool completely. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Store in airtight container.
</div>
